In light of Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz’s announcement for “Shelter in Place” for the next two weeks, our lives are going to be quarantined.
Our daily lives are going to consist of working from home, Zoom meetings, reading, playing with our kids, cooking at home, playing board games, Netflix binge-watching, and being outside in the fresh air keeping our “social distance”!
While being in quarantine it's hard to get out there “physically” to support the Brainerd Lakes Area local businesses. But we can all do this “online” easily!
Here are some ideas to help the Brainerd Lakes Area local businesses:
Post a Review of a Good Service you Experience from a Local Business
We may have used a business’s service this past winter or summer and were really happy with the services, but didn’t leave a review on Google, a businesses website, Yelp or their Facebook Page. We all have some time on our hands now so take time to write that review to tell others about the great experience you had.
Is there a Business that you visit and Use Often, but don’t follow on Instagram and Facebook?
If you have Facebook or Instagram. Go search for the business and follow them. Every follower or Facebook Page like helps that business grow their brand and credibility. While this doesn’t seem like an important piece for individuals, for businesses it helps to drive people to their website and gain business opportunity.
If You Love a Product you bought from a local business take a picture or video of you using that product. Post the picture on Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest TAG the business in the post.
Example: If you bought a bag coffee from a local coffee shop. Take a picture of the bag of coffee with your cup of coffee you just made. Your content could say something like this, “Stonehouse Coffee is delicious and helps start my day. Thanks @stonehousecoffe #StonehouseCoffee for helping me get through the day!”
Shop Online
If the local business has the option to shop online for their products or services, go shop on their website and place an order. Once you have received the product you purchased, take a picture of the package and post on Instagram or Facebook. Include if they offer delivery or curbside pick-up and how that experience was well.
